Director, collaborator and educator in film and screen dance.









Sima Gonsai is a visual artist and independent filmmaker from the UK with a passion for artistic storytelling in dance and film. For the past twelve years, she has directed and produced regional and international work in film, screen dance, drama and digital installation.


As a creator she established herself with “Cycle Dialogues” documenting multi-cultural stories captured while solely circumnavigating 8000km across Europe and South East Asia on her bicycle. Sima is now an established Screen Dance producer and director, receiving international acclaim for her trilogy of work profiling dance and disability and receiving her directorial debut with “The Offering” for Creative England ishorts 2015.


As a curator Sima is an independent programmer specialising in screen dance, working in collaboration with arts and film festivals. She is also the events co-ordinator for the Producers Forum Birmingham.


As a collaborator, Sima is an enabler, inspiring young people and emerging artists to create experimental films. She is also a board member of Rosie Kay Dance Company.
